I'll be semi-exciting and post one of these song games that are apparently going around. Or something. The official directions are as follows:

Of course, I was barely able to choose my favorite line from most of them, since that usually included the title of the song. So instead, we get random lines from various points in the songs. Oh yeah, I skipped instrumentals. --;

Now, if anyone has any tips for properly modulating my voice to produce a convincing female tone, I'm open to any suggestions. Keep in mind that I can alter the pitch at any time, so I only need to adjust what formant frequencies I'm throwing out. If you don't have a clue what I'm talking about, then nevermind. Either that, or offer to record numerous lines. The choice is yours. Or maybe it isn't.

Now... I just realized it wasn't particularly interesting to start two paragraphs with "Now," but I'd rather not go back and correct it.

This is an update. No really, it is. I didn't say it would be a good update.

I return to school in five days or something, and all the better, because I'm really tired of eating salad.

Anyway, once that happens, I'm sure I'll have something more interesting to say. Until then...

Well, day 7531 just finished. It was less exciting than you might think for such a monumental milestone, but at least I didn't have to mow the lawn. The point of all this is that there really is no point. Seriously.

In other news, I finally can return to school in about two weeks. This has some definite pros and cons. First, there are a few reasons I prefer living there. Believe it or not, having food selection available to me makes me much happier, instead of eating salad as a side dish every single day here at home. Not to mention that my school actually has good food. In addition, I'll no longer have to deal with a constant influx of spiders, ants, earwigs, and other assorted arthropods. Granted, there are some curious bugs in my particular dorm, but they don't happen to bother me, and I might see one once a month. Furthermore, this house creeps me out for whatever reason. I hope that's to be expected given it was constructed in 1910 or something.

Now for whatever negatives there may be. Well, first, the shower head is a bit shorter than it should be, but that's relatively minor. More pressing is the fact that I'll have to attend class again. Distressing as that may be, it'll continue to be pointless and almost pathetically easy. Finally, I'll have to use my headphones more. For whatever reason, I'm not exactly comfortable with people in real life hearing all of my music collection. Perhaps it's the sizable collection of Britney Spears. Nonetheless, I'll find a way around this problem, as I have the past two years. I suppose there's another problem in that people might annoy me and knock on my door. Luckily, I think my ignore the incessant knocking skills haven't regressed, so I don't anticipate a problem. If all goes well, there won't be many phone calls, either, which should keep me from going insane listening to a ringing phone. Yes, I refuse to answer the phone unless it's planned. If it's really important, the person can leave a damned message.

Finally, I will have Tuesday off, but as a consequence will have a fairly long (read: 7 hours) Wednesday. No matter, as the last 3 hours consist of a pointless lab.

I think that's about it.

I don't know what it is, or if it even exists, but my oh my, it tastes more like fresh peanuts.

In other news, the temperature has dropped from a blisteringly hot 95F (35C) to a slightly warm 52F (11C) in two days.

In yet other news, a man recently walked into a bar. He would have asked the bartender for a drink, but unfortunately, the bar was metal, and I don't mean the music. He's recovering at the nearest hospital.

Finally, it appears that Jack Nicholson is, in fact, Satan.

Well, now that my summer vacation is two-thirds of the way completed, I think it's time to evaluate it... See, I had quite large lists of games to play, books to read, and other random things to do. You know how much I actually did? Almost nothing. In all honesty, my routine this summer has been pretty much the same as my routine at school. My original intention was to take advantage of the extra four or so hours I'd have a day and do something. I didn't change my sleep schedule.. I didn't change my daily activities. I just haven't added anything really. I'm not sure what it is. Something blocks me from doing things...

Well, with another month and a third or so left, I should look to increase my activity. This coming quarter, I won't have class on Tuesday, so that'll provide some decent opportunities. Still, I think I need to make some progress before the summer is over. Actually, I've been putting in 20-30 minutes a day to reading anyway, so I'm not worried about that aspect. It'll just take a long time to read those books. That's not really a problem, though. Gaming... well, that's just breaking down and doing it. Unfortunately, when I have other things I can do, it often takes a back seat. Ok, fine, that'll still be there in five years, and the odds of my actually playing a game would increase greatly if I had a second computer, but that won't happen for a couple of years, barring a lottery win or something. Either that or a sudden influx of donations. That leaves my various programming and web projects... which no one who reads this gives a damn about, so I won't elaborate. Wait, did I say people who read this? They exist? @_@

I have now discovered why this particular layout has been breaking horribly in Mozilla... Kat, you must absorb the same fix, since I discovered it looking at your journal. :p You know, unless you like it creepy looking. ^_~ At least, it should fix it... worked on mine anyway.

Now it's time to yell at all you people who still use IE. It has so many layout bugs it's not even funny anymore. A lot of it is subtle stuff you won't notice unless you actually read the specs. You'll just think that's how it's supposed to work. -_- Yes, Kat, this means your dotted borders.

I've discovered that LiveJournal is one of the worst examples of HTML ever known to exist.

EVER.

Seriously, they construct the page like there are still numerous Netscape 4.x users out there. It's time to let go, people. All modern browsers provide decent support for CSS-based layout. They should be using XHTML-based markup, and leaving all the styling to CSS. They do use CSS for most of the styling as it is, but they do it in a horrendously inefficient way. Yeesh.

Though, to put it in perspective, most people who make their own blog (at least of the EoFF-type group) are even worse than LiveJournal. That's right. Like it or not, (X)HTML is not a layout language. It's a document markup language... The next person who uses a "font" tag can kindly go to hell. No, I'm serious. There are plenty of ways to style your document without resorting to "font" tags...

And now that I'm done semi-ranting... uh... I don't seem to have much else to say. Shame.

Well, I tried that model-making thing. Let me tell you, it was hell. First, none of the hair styles really fit, so in the end I just had to kind of pick one. Second, my hair color is right in between two of their colors, so ;_;. I don't think I'll post it here. I will, however, post another model. I just kind of clicked on things randomly and threw in a random weight. :D

Whee! Updated my cheesy friend-compatibility list, added four new friends, and even posted an entry! All before breakfast! Since it is before breakfast, lots of stuff has happened today. Why, I woke up. And then I put on clothes. And then I sat at the computer. I don't think I've seen a day this exciting since...well, never. This has clearly been the most exciting day any human has ever experienced since the beginning of time. And just to put the icing on the cake, it's only 9:30! Who knows what amazing stuff can happen between now and then?

Now that I'm finished being overly sarcastic... well, uh, that's it.
